Adam is a Seattle-bred, LA-based cinematographer whose recent projects include the documentary SWEPT for Human Rights Watch, examining LA’s houselessness crisis; the crime thriller series ON CALL for Amazon; the feature SELF RELIANCE (SXSW 2023); Apple’s THE BIG DOOR PRIZE; Charlie Brooker’s DEATH TO 2020 for Netflix, and the Emmy-nominated PEN15. In 2022 he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography on Netflix’s THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB.
Adam is also an LA County EMT and search and rescue volunteer with the Altadena Mountain Rescue Team, which was instrumental in responding to the 2025 Eaton Fire. He founded the Santa Monica-based production company National Picture Show, and prior worked as a civilian contractor for the US Army, designing interactive training simulators. He holds degrees from Yale and Columbia. He has filmed all over the world and has a special interest in wildlife protection, working with conservation organizations in Southeast Asia and Latin America. He lives in Highland Park, Los Angeles with a one-eyed cat and a two-eyed partner.
